Will Leitch is a senior writer for Sports on Earth and hosts the daily podcast “The Will Leitch Experience.”

He also serves as a contributing editor for New York Magazine. Leitch was the founding editor of Deadspin, which he launched in September 2005 and guided to its position as the nation’s most widely read independent sports blog. He left Deadspin in July 2008 but still regularly contributes to the site and to Gawker, most notably as a film critic. He has also contributed to The New York Times, Esquire, The Atlantic, GQ, Bloomberg Businessweek, Fast Company, Parade, Glamour and The Nation.

He is the author of four books: “Are We Winning: Fathers and Sons and the New Golden Age of Baseball” (2010), “God Save The Fan” (2008), “Catch” (2005) and “Life As a Loser” (2003). He earned a bachelor’s degree in print journalism from the University of Illinois and is originally from Mattoon, Ill. He now lives in Athens, Ga., with his wife and son.
